fake id dealer busted in NJ

Daniel Wroblewski was arrested yesterday in Wallingon (Bergen County, NJ) and charged with two offenses of counterfeiting government documents which is a second degree crime. 25 years old Polish origin construction worker apparently was running a side business of selling false identification documents. Within a couple of days he was able to obtain various documents to his customers such as state driver’s license, Social Security card, contractor access identification cards for various building and sites, even General Education Diplomas (GEDs) and college diplomas. Fees varied from $200 to $500 depending on the document ordered. His clients would just provide personal data relevant to the document such as names, address, eyes color, height, weight etc and photo, wait couple of days and collect requested documents. Investigation was ran by Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, White Collar Crimes Squad. Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli has not disclosed any information about equipment secured at the defendant site. This let me to speculate if Wroblewski was indeed manufacturer of the documents or just a runner. Some of the documents he offered for sale require fairly sophisticated equipment to produce even if they’re just fakes. For example New Jersey driver’s license and photo id cards are protected by a hologram that is very difficult and expensive to reproduce.
Wroblewski is being held at Bergen County jail at $50,000 bond. He will face the judge today.
