Russia to issue new ID card

According to the Moscow News Russia will be issuing new ID cards for its nationals 14 years and older beginning January 2014. The new ID card with optional photo is planned to hold substantial amount of owner’s information. Going after president Dmitry Medvedev card should be good for shopping, banking, public transportation, paying utility bills, accessing pension account, health care services and more. Versatility of new ID card raised fraud risk concerns. Government agencies assure the card will have cutting edge security features.
