TN: verify FEMA ID badge before sharing information

Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has reminded Tennessee flood victims to be aware of scam artists presence. Number of cases has been reported when FEMA impostors asked flood victims personal information including Social Security Number. FEMA officials remind that all agency representatives wear clothing with FEMA logo, carry government issued ID and use marked vehicles to move around. In case FEMA agent identity is in debt flood victims should contact sheriff’s office or FEMA directly at http://www.fema.gov/index.shtm or 1-800-621-FEMA
