WI: id badge from tech college good for voting

Wisconsin Government Accountability Board decided on Wednesday to change its previous decision and allow Mid-State Technical College students to use school photo id cards as form of identification during elections. Previous decision of the board interpet the voting bill as excluding technical school ids from the pool of valid means of identification for election. The board voted unanimously to reverse the decision. The college IDs will have to be replaced to be election bill compliant though. Currently most Wisconsin schools issue ID cards valid for 4 years while the election law has 2 years expiration cap for college identification documents.
At the same meeting state board declined to reconsider previous decision on stickers and labels applied to students id cards. In September the board decided that labels on the ID card does not void its validity for election purposes. The decision raised some controversy and caused appeal submission.
