Specifications

Our standard ID badges are the same size and shape as a typical credit or bank card, so they fit universal badge holders, clips, and lanyard pouches. The industry calls this format CR80 (also known as ISO/IEC 7810 ID-1)—the most common size for employee IDs, access cards, and membership badges.

Physical dimensions and standard for CR80 ID cards
Attribute Specification
Standard name CR80 (credit-card size)
Width 3.375 in (85.6 mm)
Height 2.125 in (54 mm)
Thickness (standard) 30 mil (0.030 in, 0.762 mm)—about 30 / 1000 of an inch
Corner radius 0.09 in (2.4 mm) rounded corners

Need a heavier card? We also offer 40 mil and 50 mil PVC options in the designer for added rigidity and durability.

Material

Quick ID Cards are printed on high-quality white PVC (polyvinyl chloride) stock. PVC is the workhorse of professional ID programs: it resists moisture and everyday wear, holds sharp print, and stands up well in typical indoor and light outdoor use. It is rigid enough to feed reliably through card printers and slot punches while staying comfortable to carry in a wallet or holder.

Print quality

Artwork is produced at 300 DPI using dedicated ID-card printers with continuous-tone (dye-sublimation) imaging. That process lays down smooth tonal transitions—especially important for photos, flesh tones, and gradients—so badges often look more natural than output from many office laser or inkjet printers, which rely on halftone dots. Logos, barcodes, and fine text remain crisp at badge viewing distances.
